What GuaranteeCheck is, and why this matters for data handling

GuaranteeCheck is a self-help tool for homeowners with orphaned solar leases: it checks your actual production against your lease's production guarantee, and drafts a claim letter for you to send yourself if a shortfall is found. It never contacts your servicer on your behalf.

Production data

If you connect Enphase, we access your production data through Enphase's own OAuth authorization flow, which you grant directly — your Enphase login credentials are never shared with us. If you use SolarEdge, you provide production data yourself, either as a CSV export from your own monitoring account or manual entry. This data is used only to calculate your actual output for the true-up period you're checking.

Lease terms

You enter your lease's guaranteed production, true-up interval, true-up rate, and any carried-over balance yourself. We do not parse, upload, or store a copy of your actual lease document — only the numbers you type in.

Claim letters

If a shortfall is found and you choose to generate a claim letter, we use your production data, lease terms, and the contact details you provide (name, address, account number) to draft that letter and an accompanying evidence packet. The letter is generated for you to review and send — we do not send it or any part of it to your servicer ourselves.

Billing information — current pre-launch state

GuaranteeCheck's pricing model (free diagnostic, $99 completion fee only if a shortfall is found, or a GuaranteeCheck Plus subscription) is built and tested, but no real payment processor is connected yet. No real charge can currently be made through GuaranteeCheck. Once real payment processing is wired up, this section will be updated with the specific processor and what it handles.

Website data

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, referral source, general location by country/region). It's privacy-first by design: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no personal data collected or stored about individual visitors — which is why this site doesn't show a cookie-consent banner.

Data retention and deletion

Because GuaranteeCheck isn't live and no account system exists yet, there's currently no persistent account data to retain or delete beyond direct email correspondence if you contact us. This will be updated with concrete retention terms once the product is live and handling real diagnostics.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what data GuaranteeCheck touches or how it's used, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
